Almost two and a half years ago I got married and became part of this wonderful family. Till the time I got a full time job in this new city, I used to do the laundry regularly. There are four men in the house, so you can imagine the amount of dirty laundry. In our modern world, the washing machine is a blessing, isn’t it? Also, one or the other of the boys would do their bit. But once I started to work full time, they understood that laundry cannot be kept piled up till the end of the week. So whenever anyone of them is home, they do some part of the laundry. Even the one who never did any laundry, volunteered to do it whenever he was home.

When my husband is home, he challenges himself to empty the entire laundry basket and spends the better part of the day in doing the laundry. My father-in-law helps my mother-in-law in doing laundry. So you see, doing the laundry by men in our family is not a taboo, but a helping hand even to the homemakers.
